Whether you’ve received a hand-tied bouquet or a luxurious arrangement set in a vase or floral foam, these simple care tips will help your flowers look their very best for as long as possible. And if you’re ever unsure, just ask. Sharing floral wisdom is one of my favourite things.

Caring for Hand-Tied Bouquets

Trim the stems
Cut 2–3cm from the bottom of each stem at an angle before placing them in water. This helps flowers drink properly.
Use clean water and a clean vase
Fresh water every two days works wonders. Bacteria is the enemy of beautiful blooms.
Remove foliage below the waterline
Leaves sitting in water shorten vase life and cloud the water.
Choose the right spot
Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, radiators, and fruit bowls. Cool and calm wins every time.
Let them evolve
Many of our flowers arrive in bud, so you can enjoy watching them open and change. This is not impatience. This is design.

Caring for Arrangements in Floral Foam

• Top up the foam daily with fresh water
• Pour gently into the centre of the arrangement
• Keep away from heat and direct sunlight
• Never let the foam dry out completely

Floral foam arrangements are designed to be enjoyed as they are. Please don’t remove the flowers or rearrange them. They’re already doing their thing beautifully.

When to Say Goodbye

Sad but true. Flowers don’t last forever. When they reach their final curtain call, compost what you can and recycle or reuse your vase. If you’re feeling creative, drying petals for potpourri or keepsakes is a lovely way to extend the memory.
